The written examination places the highest emphasis on the candidate's engineering discipline because Part A carries 80 marks. Part A also carries a 1/3 negative mark for every incorrect response, so random guessing can reduce the score. Part B has no negative marking and tests numerical, logical, diagrammatic, abstract and deductive reasoning.
