Introduction to RRC SER Sports Quota Recruitment 2026

Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), South Eastern Railway has released Employment Notice No. SER/Pers/Sports Quota/OA/2026-27 for recruitment of eligible sportspersons against the Sports Quota for the year 2026-27.

A total of 54 vacancies have been announced across Group C and Group D pay levels. The recruitment includes 5 vacancies in Level 4/5, 16 vacancies in Level 2/3 and 33 vacancies in Level 1.

The online application process will begin on 31 October 2026 and will close on 30 November 2026 at 23:59 hrs.

Candidates must satisfy both the minimum sports achievement norms and the prescribed educational qualification for the pay level applied for. Selection is not based on a conventional written examination; eligible applicants are assessed through sports trials, sports certificates, coach observations and educational qualification.

For Group C appointment against Technician-III, the notification prescribes Class 10 plus ITI unless otherwise exempted by the applicable Railway rules.

The applicant must possess the minimum educational qualification before appearing for the sports trial. Candidates awaiting results are not eligible.

Candidates must satisfy the minimum sports norms prescribed for the pay level applied for.

Level 4 / Level 5 Sports Norms

Eligible achievements include participation or prescribed medal / position standards in major international or national championships recognised under Railway Sports Promotion Board rules.

Level 2 / Level 3 Sports Norms

Eligible candidates should generally have represented the country, secured prescribed positions at senior national championships, represented a state or equivalent unit, or met specific sports-wise performance criteria.

Level 1 Sports Norms

Eligibility includes representation at prescribed national / international level or achievement of the required position in recognised championships according to the discipline-specific rules.

Sports Certificate Validity Period

Only sports achievements from championships concluded on or after 1 April 2024 and up to the notification cut-off will be considered for recruitment where specified.

Achievements must be supported by certificates from the recognised federation / association / competent authority listed in the Railway sports recruitment rules.

RRC SER Sports Quota Application Fee 2026

The refundable portion is payable only to candidates who actually appear in the trial.

No TA/DA or accommodation will be provided for appearing in the sports trial.

Applications may be summarily rejected for reasons including:

• More than one application by the same candidate.

• Failure to pay the prescribed fee.
• Incomplete or ineligible application.

RRC SER Sports Quota Service Bond

Selected candidates are required to execute a Service Bond to serve South Eastern Railway for 5 years.

Typing Requirement for Clerk-Cum-Typist Posts

Candidates appointed to Clerk-cum-Typist posts under Group C must acquire typing proficiency within four years of appointment:

• English typing: 30 words per minute; OR
• Hindi typing: 25 words per minute.

Until the required typing proficiency is acquired, the appointment remains provisional as specified in the notice.

• A 5-year Service Bond is mandatory after selection.
