Introduction to RRB Station Master Recruitment 2026

Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs), under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, have released Centralised Employment Notice (CEN) No. 08/2026 for recruitment to the post of Station Master.

RRB Station Master CBAT 2026

Candidates will normally be shortlisted for CBAT up to 8 times the RRB-wise vacancies, subject to availability of eligible candidates.

Candidates must qualify in each individual CBAT test battery. There is no category-wise relaxation in the minimum T-score of 42.

Only candidates who qualify every CBAT battery are considered for preparation of combined merit.

RRB Station Master Preparation Focus 2026

The largest CBT component is Basic Science, Mathematical and Analytical Capability, carrying 60 of the 100 marks. Candidates should devote the largest portion of preparation time to mathematics, data interpretation and basic science.

Logical Capability and Mental Reasoning carry 20 marks each. Because the CBT has one-third negative marking, maintaining accuracy is more important than attempting every question.

CBAT should also be prepared separately because candidates must secure a T-score of 42 in every individual battery. Failure in even one battery eliminates the candidate from final combined merit.
