Introduction to ISRO Department of Space Recruitment 2026

Department of Space, Government of India has issued Office Memorandum No. A.26011/1/2025-I (Vol.II) inviting applications for filling up various Group-A and Group-B posts in the Department of Space Secretariat, Bengaluru, on deputation basis.

A total of 60 vacancies have been notified across administrative, finance & accounts, audit, stenographic, clerical and Official Language cadres.

The recruitment includes posts such as Sr. Head, Audit; Principal Pay and Accounts Officer; Deputy Secretary; Under Secretary; Sr. Audit Officer; Audit Officer; Assistant Section Officer; Private Secretary; Personal Assistant; Senior Translation Officer and others.

This recruitment is primarily meant for serving officers/officials of ISRO, All India Services and eligible Central Government Services who satisfy the prescribed feeder-grade and regular-service conditions. It is not a conventional direct recruitment for fresh candidates.

The eligibility conditions vary considerably from post to post. Broadly, candidates must be serving officers/officials who either:

The eligible service/cadre also differs between ISRO employees, All India Services, Central Services Group-A, Central Services Group-B and Official Language/stenographic cadres.

Sr. Head Audit Eligibility 2026

• Have 5 years regular service as Head, Accounts & IFA in Level 12; or

Eligible officers from All India Services / Central Services Group-A may qualify by holding an analogous Finance & Accounts post or having 5 years regular service in Level 12/equivalent in Finance & Accounts.

Principal Pay and Accounts Officer Eligibility 2026

The eligibility is broadly similar to Sr. Head, Audit and includes analogous Finance & Accounts posts or prescribed service in Level 12 / Level 11 feeder grades.

Deputy Secretary Eligibility 2026

ISRO Department of Space Age Limit 2026

The official memorandum states that the maximum age limit for appointment on deputation shall not exceed 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.

• Integrity of the officer
• Major/minor penalties, if any, during the last 10 years
• Authenticity of APAR copies for the last 5 years
• That the officer will be relieved immediately if selected

ISRO DOS Recruitment 2026 Important Instructions

• This is a deputation-based recruitment.
• Fresh candidates are not ordinarily eligible merely by possessing an academic degree.
• The maximum deputation age is 56 years on the closing date.
• Appointments are subject to the prescribed feeder-grade / analogous-post requirements.
• The total deputation period including immediately preceding ex-cadre deputation cannot exceed 5 years.
• A mandatory cooling-off period of 3 years applies after deputation / foreign service.
