Applicants should also possess a sound professional reputation, good communication skills and adequate office infrastructure at the city or town where the relevant court is situated. The Competent Authority may relax the prescribed experience requirement or prescribe additional qualifications or conditions where considered appropriate.

An advocate may be considered ineligible for empanelment in circumstances including the following:

The panel of advocates will ordinarily be constituted for a period of three years. Empanelment can, however, be terminated by the Competent Authority before expiry of the tenure for non-compliance with the prescribed terms and conditions.

Empanelment does not guarantee allotment of legal work. Cases are to be allocated depending on availability of work and at the discretion of the Competent Authority. Performance of empanelled advocates is also subject to periodic review.

ESIC Tamil Nadu Advocates Fees and Remuneration

The notification does not prescribe a fixed monthly salary or regular government pay scale because the engagement is an advocate empanelment. Professional fees payable to empanelled advocates will be governed by the ESIC fee schedule notified through Office Memorandum dated 25 March 2026, No. T-11/15/12/2016-Vol-II, as referred to in the official notice.
