Introduction to ISRO NRSC Recruitment 2026

National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), a primary centre of the Indian Space Research Organisation under the Department of Space, has released Advertisement No. NRSC/RMT/1/2026 for Temporary Research Personnel. The recruitment covers Research Scientist, Project Associate-I, Project Associate-II, Project Scientist-I, Project Scientist-B and Junior Research Fellow posts.

The post-code-wise vacancies add up to 48 provisional posts. Online applications opened on 1 August 2026 at 10:00 AM and close on 21 August 2026 at 5:00 PM. Candidates must submit a separate application and fee for each post code.

National Remote Sensing Centre Overview

Qualifications vary by post code and include M.E./M.Tech, M.Sc./M.Sc Tech, B.E./B.Tech and relevant Bachelor's Degrees in Civil Engineering, Agriculture Engineering, Remote Sensing, GIS, Geoinformatics, Geology, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Atmospheric Science, Meteorology, Oceanography, Agriculture, Horticulture and allied subjects.

Key Post-Wise Requirements

• Research Scientist: Relevant M.E./M.Tech or M.Sc./M.Sc Tech qualification with the prescribed undergraduate background.
• Project Associate-I: B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent.
• Project Associate-II: Relevant B.E./B.Tech or M.Sc qualification plus two years of R&D experience.
• Project Scientist-B: Relevant postgraduate or engineering qualification in geology, remote sensing, geoinformatics, computer science, environmental or agriculture-related disciplines.
• Project Scientist-I: M.E./M.Tech in Computer Science or IT with the corresponding B.E./B.Tech background.
• JRF: Relevant Master's Degree and a valid NET, GATE or other notified national-level examination score in the advertised discipline.

Only passed-out candidates may apply. Candidates awaiting final results are not eligible. B.Tech or M.Tech completed through Open and Distance Learning is not accepted. Rounding of marks or CGPA is not allowed.

Ex-Servicemen and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities are eligible for relaxation under Government of India orders.

ISRO NRSC Application Fee 2026

Each application carries a fee of Rs 250, payable online through the Bharatkosh gateway. Candidates applying for more than one post code must submit separate applications and pay the fee separately.

No refund is available to an exempt-category candidate who fails to appear for interview. Correct bank-account details must be entered for processing the refund.

HRA is payable where accommodation is not provided. Selected candidates are eligible for medical benefits for self under NRSC/ISRO rules but not for benefits available to regular employees.

Tenure of NRSC Temporary Research Posts
