Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has released Advertisement No. HAL/CHRC-TM/RECT-02/2026 for recruitment to 120 Design Trainee and Management Trainee vacancies. The recruitment includes 60 Design Trainee posts and 60 Management Trainee posts across Aeronautical, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Computer Science, Metallurgy, Production and Civil disciplines.

HAL Trainee Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology, or an equivalent qualification, in the notified discipline. The degree must have been obtained through a regular, full-time course from a recognised University or Institution under the 10+2+4 pattern, or 10+3+3 for lateral entry.

Part-time, correspondence, distance-learning and e-learning engineering degrees are not accepted. Final-year candidates may apply if they have the required aggregate up to the latest declared semester and can produce final proof at the interview.

Eligible Engineering Branches

Eligible branches include Aerospace/Aeronautical; Electrical and allied streams; Electronics and Communication branches; Instrumentation; Mechanical, Mechatronics and allied branches; Computer Science, IT, AI, AI & ML and Cyber Security; Metallurgy and Materials; Production and Manufacturing streams; and Civil Engineering for the notified discipline.

HAL Trainee Age Limit 2026

The upper age limit is 28 years as on 14 August 2026 for UR and EWS candidates.

HAL Trainee Application Fee 2026

Payment can be made through Credit Card, Internet Banking or UPI through SBIePAY. The fee is non-refundable, and convenience charges must be paid separately.

HAL Trainee Selection Process 2026

Selection consists of an online Computer Based Test followed by a personal interview at Bengaluru. Candidates will be shortlisted for interview in a 1:5 ratio against discipline-wise and category-wise vacancies.

Candidates must obtain at least 50% marks separately in the online test and interview, subject to applicable relaxation for reserved categories.

HAL Online Test Pattern 2026

The test duration is 2.5 hours. Candidates may choose Hindi or English as the test language while applying.

HAL Training, Salary and Pay Scale

The 52-week training programme includes theoretical and on-the-job training. During training, candidates receive a stipend comprising Basic Pay of Rs 50,000, Variable Dearness Allowance and Canteen Allowance. Bachelor accommodation may also be provided under company rules.

After successful training, candidates will be absorbed as Engineers in Grade-II in the pay scale of Rs 50,000 to Rs 1,60,000, with eligible allowances, perks, HRA or company accommodation, performance-related pay, medical facilities, provident fund, gratuity and superannuation benefits.

HAL Service Agreement Bond

Selected candidates must execute a bond to serve HAL for five years, excluding training. Breach of the agreement may require reimbursement of actual training and recruitment expenses, subject to a maximum of Rs 15 lakh.
