SJVN Recruitment 2026 Overview

This recruitment is aimed at experienced professionals with relevant post-qualification executive experience in erection, commissioning and operation and maintenance of coal-based thermal power plants, including experience in super-critical thermal power plants of at least 660 MW capacity.

Expert insight: These are not entry-level fresher posts. Even the Engineer/E2 vacancies require at least three years of relevant post-qualification executive experience, including one year in a super-critical thermal power plant of minimum 660 MW capacity.

SJVN Recruitment 2026 Educational Qualification

Candidates belonging to SC, ST and PwBD categories need at least 50% marks in the essential qualification. Candidates from all other categories need at least 55% marks. Rounding off is not permitted; for example, 54.99% is not treated as 55%.

SJVN Experience Requirements 2026

The experience must be in erection, commissioning and/or operation and maintenance of coal-based thermal power plants in the relevant functional area. SC/ST candidates receive one year of relaxation in total experience wherever the prescribed experience is more than three years.

Additional Conditions for Government and CPSE Candidates

Candidates applying for E8(a) should have worked in the IDA pay scale of Rs 1,20,000-3%-2,80,000 or equivalent for the last four years. Candidates applying for E4 or E2 from Government/CPSE organisations should have worked in the IDA pay scale of Rs 60,000-3%-1,80,000 or equivalent for the last four years.

Additional Conditions for Private-Sector Candidates

• Minimum CTC of Rs 27 lakh per annum for E8(a).
• Minimum CTC of Rs 13.62 lakh per annum for E4 and E2.
• Employment in a reputed organisation having an average annual turnover of at least Rs 2,500 crore during the three audited financial years preceding the current year.

Teaching experience, internship, apprenticeship and pre-qualification experience are not counted. Sabbatical leave and extraordinary leave are also excluded from the experience period.

SJVN Age Limit 2026

The upper age limit is calculated as on 26 August 2026, the closing date of the advertisement.

Age Relaxation

The upper age limit after all relaxations cannot exceed 55 years. Internal SJVN applicants have no upper age bar.

The fee is non-refundable and must be paid online. The application is treated as complete only after successful payment where the fee applies.

SJVN Salary 2026

Selected candidates also receive IDA, allowances at 35% of Basic Pay under the cafeteria approach, HRA or company-leased accommodation, contributory provident fund, conveyance reimbursement, leave encashment, performance-related pay, medical facilities, gratuity and contributory pension under company rules.

SJVN Selection Process 2026

If a screening test is conducted, the qualifying marks are 50% for UR, EWS and ESM candidates and 40% for other reserved-category candidates. Interview qualifying marks are also 50% for UR, EWS and ESM and 40% for SC, ST, PwBD and OBC-NCL candidates. Candidates may appear for the interview in Hindi or English.
