About Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR)

The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) is one of the 18 railway zones of Indian Railways, headquartered in Maligaon, Guwahati, Assam. It manages railway operations across the northeastern states of India, including Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Tripura, and parts of West Bengal and Bihar.

Apart from transportation services, NFR regularly conducts recruitment for various Group C, Group D, Apprentices, Scouts & Guides, and Sports Quota vacancies. The Sports Quota recruitment aims to encourage talented sportspersons by providing them with secure Central Government employment while promoting excellence in sports within Indian Railways.

Pay Level-wise Vacancies

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess the following educational qualification depending upon the pay level.

Candidates applying for Technician posts must also satisfy the prescribed technical eligibility.

Sports Qualification

Candidates should possess outstanding sports achievements in recognized championships conducted on or after 01 April 2024.

Eligible achievements include participation or medal positions in:

• International Championships
• National Championships
• Federation Cup
• National Games
• Inter-University Championships
• Senior & Junior National Competitions

The required sports achievements vary depending upon the pay level and sports discipline.

Age Limit

Age will be calculated as on 01 January 2027.

Salary

Selected candidates will receive salary according to the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.

Marks Distribution

Minimum qualifying marks:

• Level-2 & Level-3: 65 Marks
• Level-1: 60 Marks
