CSIR NEERI Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
The selection process for both Technical Assistant and Technical Officer consists of a qualifying Trade Test followed by a competitive written examination.

Only candidates who qualify the Trade Test will be permitted to appear in the written examination. Paper-II and Paper-III will be evaluated only for candidates who achieve the minimum qualifying threshold prescribed for Paper-I.
CSIR NEERI Exam Pattern 2026
The written examination is an OMR-based or Computer-Based Objective Type Multiple Choice Examination. A total of 200 questions will be asked over three papers with an aggregate examination duration of 3 hours.

CSIR NEERI Final Merit List 2026
Paper-I is qualifying in nature. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of candidates' performance in Paper-II and Paper-III, subject to qualification in the Trade Test and Paper-I.
Tie-Breaking Rules
If two or more candidates obtain equal aggregate marks, CSIR-NEERI will apply the prescribed tie-breaking criteria in sequence, including:
- Higher marks in the concerned subject/trade paper.
- Lower negative marks in the concerned subject/trade paper.
- Lower negative marks in the papers considered for merit.
- Older candidate by date of birth.
- Candidate who acquired the essential degree earlier.
- Alphabetical order of candidates' first names.
