UPSC Advt. 11/2026 Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

Advertisement No. 11/2026 is a Recruitment by Selection notification. Selection is primarily through shortlisting and interview. UPSC may, however, conduct a Recruitment Test (RT) where the number of eligible applications makes additional shortlisting necessary.

  • Initial Scrutiny: UPSC checks whether candidates satisfy the essential qualification, experience, age and other advertised conditions.
  • Shortlisting: If applications are large in number, UPSC may shortlist candidates on the basis of higher qualifications, desirable qualifications, higher/relevant experience or other criteria announced by the Commission.
  • Recruitment Test, if required: UPSC may hold a Recruitment Test or Combined Recruitment Test for shortlisting. A common written examination is not automatically guaranteed for every post.
  • Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for interview and must produce the prescribed supporting documents.
  • Suitability Standard: The notified minimum interview suitability level is 50 marks out of 100 for UR, 45 for OBC and 40 for SC/ST/PwBD candidates, subject to UPSC's applicable rules.
  • Final Appointment: Selection by UPSC is followed by appointment formalities with the concerned Government department/organisation.

Because a Recruitment Test is only held if UPSC considers it necessary, the advertisement does not prescribe one common examination pattern or syllabus for all seven posts. Candidates should rely on any separate Recruitment Test notice issued by UPSC for the exact scheme, syllabus and examination date.
