The Skill Test is conducted on a GO/NO-GO or qualifying basis. Marks obtained in the Skill Test are not added to the final merit score. Final selection among candidates who qualify the Skill Test is based on Written Test marks.

If two candidates obtain equal Written Test marks, the academic marks in the prescribed qualification will be used as the tie-breaker.

Technical Assistant & Technician Skill Test

Candidates qualifying the Written Test will generally be shortlisted for the Skill Test in a 1:5 ratio, with a minimum of 10 applicants for a post.

The Written Test for Technical Assistant Post Codes 60-62 will be bilingual in English and Hindi. Tests for Post Codes 63-68, 70 and 71 will be trilingual in Tamil, Hindi and English.

The Cook 'A' Written Test consists of 100 MCQs to be completed in 120 minutes. One mark is awarded for every correct answer and 0.25 mark is deducted for every wrong answer.

Fireman 'A' applicants must satisfy the physical fitness standards prescribed by IPRC.
